The Oregon Home Builders Association issued some reminders about RRP updates yesterday:
- CCB is now issuing fines for Lead Based Paint violations – up to $1000 for the first, $3000 second and $5000 for the third. The most common violation is the lack of Firm Certification or License. (EPA calls it a Certification. CCB calls it a license.) Remember, the license is in addition to the RRP course that you have already taken.
If you haven’t already done so, be sure to get your company licensed. You need to be certified though the CCB. (If you do not have a CCB license, your certification comes though DHS.) You can find the application here.
- EPA has created flyers notifying consumers of the importance of using a Lead Safe Certified Contractor. These can be found here.
- EPA has revised the Renovate Right brochure. You can call 1-800-424-LEAD (5323) to order printed copies or download a copy from the OHBA website.
